Eifel Climb

Hiking pleasure of premium quality awaits you on the Eifel Climb, 195 mi/313 km long, from Aachen, formerly the site of Charlemagne’s imperial palace, to Trier, Germany’s oldest city. The motto “Where stone and water are your companions” is reflected in the route itself:

Craggy rocks and fantastic rock formations, isolated promontories and valleys, imposing lakes, quiet maars, untamed or gently flowing rivers and brooks. After you have hiked through the northern plains near Aachen, you soon reach the High Fens. The route continues to the south through the secluded Rur Valley, the lake landscape of the Eifel, through the Eifel National Park, and the Volcanic Eifel near Gerolstein and Daun. From there you hike through the South Eifel until you finally reach the Roman city of Trier on the Moselle.
