Trier for All

It revolves around a 17-year-old Karl Marx’s fictitious encounter with his historic super-ego and the cult worshiping of him. As a teenager, he comes across the monument of the man he will one day be. The boy vents on the older him, to the point where an argument breaks out in the middle of the street. It’s a fast-paced spectacle that takes audiences back to early-19th-century Trier, embroiling them in a witty, energy-charged play on original stages. Throughout the show, the guests become part of the story. They’re invited into the world of the man who will one day change the world with his ideas, to see things from his perspective on the day of his school-leaving examination. The audience accompanies the teenage Karl Marx through Trier on his last walk to school, on the day he has to decide what he wants to be. He has lofty goals: He wants to change the world. And win Jenny over.
