Children & Families - Tours

You want to discover Trier? Then accompany us on a tour which will take you into the past of Germany’s oldest city.

2000 Years – 4000 small Steps
The name of this tour says it all – with 4,000 steps you will discover and experience 2,000 years of history. Embark on a foray through the city center of Trier and listen to exciting stories about the buildings, their builders, and their time. Any questions you have will of course be answered, and in the end you’ll go underground in the Imperial Baths. Additional information and tickets are available here.

Adventure Performances
A very special highlight is our action-packed, partially interactive adventure performances. Professional actors will guide you on a fascinating journey through time into the past. A centurion, a gladiator, and the Prince of Darkness himself will show you through the Porta Nigra, the Amphitheater, and Franco’s Tower. Boredom can take a hike, we can guarantee you that! Additional information and tickets are available at

An overview of our complete range of city tours and adventure performances can be found here.

Boat excursions
It’s great fun to take a boat trip, and you can discover Trier and the surrounding area from a watery perspective. Especially interesting, for example, is the passage through one of the many locks and dams. You can find an overview of departure times, routes, and prices here.

A tip for insiders: Tired from all the exploring? A little play of water at Kornmarkt Square invites you to refresh your feet during the summer months. In the meantime, your parents can fortify themselves in one of the many restaurants around Kornmarkt Square. Another alternative is the Palace Garden with its big sunbathing lawn, and its playground and sports field.
