Life and love in Roman Trier
Albinius Asper, who is mourning his beloved wife, and the clever god Mercury are the main characters in this stirring story: In search of the deceased Secundia, the unlikely companions embark on a turbulent journey through the underworld and encounter figures from Roman Trier, charioteers, wine merchants and vain matrons. Mercury has only one thing in mind: to make the melancholy Asper forget his wife through numerous temptations...
"In the Realm of Shadows" is a museum experience in a new, unprecedented dimension. The latest technology projects Asper's journey onto original, meter-high Roman grave monuments and wall surfaces. The combination of centuries-old, authentic original exhibits and images, language and sounds creates a poetic play that brings the ancient reliefs to new life.
The unique play was developed together with internationally renowned artists and implemented using the latest technology and artistic craftsmanship. The script was created by well-known authors and was accompanied by archaeologists and historians from the museum. The voices of Christoph Maria Herbst and Peter Striebeck give the main characters Merkur and Albinius Asper a very special character.
The 45-minute performances take place as follows:
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at 12:00 p.m.
Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m.
The ticket is only valid for the spatial theater!
Combined tickets for the spatial theater + museum can also be booked!
Reduced rates apply to: schoolchildren over 18 years of age, students, trainees, those doing voluntary social year, pensioners, unemployed people, severely disabled people, each with proof
