Is there a musical exploration of the topic "What is good government?"
The Russian composers Dmitri Shostakovich and Mieczysław Weinberg shared a lifelong, deep friendship – also with regard to the struggle for artistic freedom under Stalin's totalitarian regime. The piano trios of the two composers bear eloquent witness to this struggle. In the end, artistic freedom prevails. Beethoven's Archduke Trio, Op. 97, will complement the performance.
