There has been evidence of a Jewish community in Trier since ancient times. The tour therefore starts at the city's landmark, the Porta Nigra. It then takes you to various stops along Simeonstraße and Judengasse, past the Basilica of Our Lady and the Basilica of Constantine to the synagogue. You will learn more about the multifaceted history, which ranges from peaceful and productive coexistence to expulsions, pogroms and systematic murder by the National Socialists.
