Bicycles can also be parked securely and under cover around the clock in the bicycle garage at the main railway station and next to the Porta Nigra. It is monitored by cameras and has lockable boxes for bikes, batteries, chargers, helmets etc. and charging facilities for electric bikes.
Important: Cycling, riding e-bikes, scooters, and e-scooters in the pedestrian zone is prohibited between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Bike Garage next to the Porta Nigra
In the heart of Trier, right next to the historic Porta Nigra, is the new bicycle garage with 201 parking spaces, e-bike charging facilities, and a self-service station for minor repairs. In addition to 182 regular parking spaces, there are 10 individual boxes and spaces for nine cargo bikes. The charging options for e-bikes are integrated into 10 individual boxes as well as 36 separate lockers with charging capability.
In addition to the parking space, a locker or bicycle box can be booked via a separate terminal. To do this, select a free locker at the terminal. It will open automatically, and a PIN code will be displayed, which allows access to the locker later. After single use, the PIN code expires automatically.
The self-service station with hanging device is equipped with the following: tire lever, screwdrivers (flat, Phillips, and Torx), hex key set (1.5/2/2.5/3/4/5/6/8 mm), adjustable wrenches, and spanners (8+10; 13; 15), as well as a tire pump with pressure gauge.
To gain access to the bicycle garage, registration at fahrradgarage.swt.de is required. The doors can then be opened via a QR code, which will be sent by email.
Guests without a smartphone can register during opening hours at the tourist information of Trier Tourismus und Marketing GmbH.

Bike Garage at the Main train Station
The bicycle garage is equipped with 160 parking spaces, 10 closed bicycle boxes and 18 lockers for helmets and for charging e-bike/pedelec batteries. Up to 10 e-bike batteries can be safely charged in a separate locker. Charging itself is free of charge, but requires the purchase of a car park ticket. Also available: 18 x Schuko 2.3kW (230 volts, 10 amps).
