BridgeBliss meets MoonWalker

June 01 - 02, 2024
Space. This is what connects these two events, which will take place for the second time in Trier in June 2024. During the Moonwalker, participants will experience the moonlit hills around Trier, the city centre at night and the silvery, peaceful monuments and buildings in their very own night-time atmosphere on their 10, 20 or 30-kilometre hikes. During BridgeBliss ("Brückenglück"), all participants reclaim "their" Roman bridge: it is closed to traffic for one evening, one night and one Sunday.

River crossing - of course. Transport hub - for sure. But also: a place to sit? A place to celebrate? A place to enjoy wine? The Roman bridge has seldom experienced these attributions over the past centuries. But on 1 and 2 June, the time has come: everyone is invited to celebrate it at "Brückenglück". To celebrate yourself. And of course the evening. You can bring your own open-air picnic on the benches set up or in the open spaces next to them or treat yourself at our selected wine and food stands. Then you can enjoy the unobstructed view of the moonlit, gentle waves of the Moselle, of the embankment swaying soothingly in the gentle evening breeze or of the bridge itself, which for once is populated by people rather than cars.

On this evening, however, there is more on offer than just a picnic: On 1 June, the Römerbrücke will be the start and finish point for the Moonwalker, the hiking event for all those who want to fulfil their childhood dream and walk the city and the hills around it in the most beautiful sunset atmosphere. The route can be chosen according to your own fitness level. Meanwhile, fans, cheers and friends will be waiting to meet again on the Römerbrücke.

And we're also building you a golden bridge: if you'd rather go straight to the picnic, you can just turn up - even if you don't know anyone who's coming along. After all, everyone likes to be cheered on. Even from strangers. And who knows: maybe you'll meet up for a glass of wine afterwards. After all, making new friends is also a form of bridge happiness.

You can register for the Moonwalker here. However, no registration is necessary for the "BrückenGlück".
