Proposed itinerary:

Your guide will be waiting for you in the hotel lobby at 9am, and will head off with you to the neighbouring Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in your bus. You will first follow the Upper Moselle to Remich, and from there head to Luxembourg’s capital, Luxembourg City. The tour through the modern banking district and past the European Union institutions demonstrates our neighbouring country’s international importance.

You will then visit the old town and cathedral, and spend your lunch break either in a cosy restaurant or shopping. Then head through ‘Little Switzerland’, with the romantic Müllerthal region and the abbey town of Echternach, which was founded in AD 698, before returning to Trier. On the way, you’ll pass by the ‘Igel Column’, a tremendous Roman funerary monument which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
