Tour with the Ballad-Monger

Life was never easy for the bard with the red cape and checked jacket: Cacofonix was regularly gagged and firmly tied to a tree by the residents of his Gallic village in a bid to prevent his appalling singing. Things are considerably easier for the descendants of the Treveri, his Celtic neighbours in the Moselle Valley, who are more than welcome to introduce their guests to the city’s history through song. While not every ‘slipshod’ recital is to be taken seriously, our bard does have whole host of exciting stories and anecdotes from Trier’s history up his sleeve: He sings and tells of holy robes and unholy revolutionaries, of fleeing princes, emperors and electors. Above all, however, he offers fun and entertainment for the whole family, including the songs that fit very well with the history but which will also be well known to modern ears. By Toutatis!
