Payment
Entrance fees must be paid in cash on site at the ticket office of the respective monument or museum.
The tour fee is to be paid directly to the tour guide in cash on site; the tour guide will issue a receipt. Payment by invoice is only possible upon prior notice at least two days before the agreed date of the tour.
Booking on Request
The request form is called request form because the binding tour requested by sending the completed form is not yet confirmed at the time the form is sent. If the requested guided tour is successfully arranged by us (TTM), the customer receives a booking confirmation and can only cancel the travel contract concluded with the tour guide in accordance with the cancellation conditions agreed below (cancellation free of charge up to three days before the date, then cancellation fees apply). However, if the requested tour cannot take place, TTM will inform the customer and the travel contract concluded will then be deemed to have been cancelled by both parties without conditions.
Bus Hire
You will always need your own vehicle for bus tours. If you do not have your own coach, a suitable vehicle can be hired from Trier Tourismus und Marketing GmbH - Tourist Information if you book in good time.
Group Size & Composition
Tours: max. 25 people or one school class per tour guide.
Tours (with own bus): one tour guide per coach. If bus tours include walks or interior visits of monuments and/or museums tours, the maximum group size is 25 people or one school class per tour guide. The tour guide is authorised to refuse the assignment if the maximum group size is exceeded.
Our well-trained team of guides can cater for all age groups, whether children, school or adult groups, professionals or interested laypersons, junior or senior citizens. Please let us know the composition of your group so that we can book the right tour guide for you.
Fees / Basic Prices
- up to 2 hours: 130 EUR (German), 140 EUR (foreign languages)
- every additional hour or part thereof: 40 EUR
- day excursions up to 8 hours (e.g. from 9am to 5pm): 280 EUR (German), 300 EUR (foreign languages)
All fees apply from the agreed starting time for the tour. The tour guide will wait 30 minutes. If you are late, please call so that the tour can still take place. If a tour is interrupted (e.g. by a lunch break), the continuation will be charged as a separate tour.
The fees do not include any admission to museums or monument sites.
Booking
It is advisable to book a guided tour or tour guide as early as possible, as there may be shortages in some months. Reservations must be made in writing (by e-mail, booking form or letter). Languages
For groups, we currently offer large parts of our guided tour programme in the following languages on request: English, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Trier dialect as well as German and international sign language.
Bilingual tours are also available on request.
Cancellation
Cancellation is free of charge up to three days before the booked date for the tour. If the cancellation is made two days or up to 24 hours before the agreed date, 50% of the agreed price will be charged. In the event of cancellation at even shorter notice or if the tour guide's waiting time of 30 minutes is exceeded, 100% of the agreed price will be charged.
Meeting Point
Groups and guides meet at the Trier Tourist Information next to the Porta Nigra.
There is a stop for coaches (only for getting on and off or for picking up a tour guide) very close to the Porta Nigra in Franz-Ludwig-Straße.
Other meeting points, e.g. at the hotel, must be expressly agreed. For meeting points outside the city centre we have to charge travel costs.
Time Planning
Please plan your tour according to the opening times of the sights and museums. Indoor visits can only be included in the tour if the tour is scheduled within these opening times and no special events are taking place in the sights or museums that would prevent regular admission.
Further Information
Trier Tourismus und Marketing GmbH organises the requested services. It accepts no liability for any losses that might occur such as delays or changes to orders, which may arise due to traffic congestion, unforeseen building closures, etc. The customer is obligated to observe the terms of the contract and has no claim to additional services. With the booking, the customer accepts all provisions of the contract. Place of jurisdiction is Trier.
